High Priest Avatar Build [Devoted Cleric]
Build Version: 1.01
Last Updated: 7/25/2016
The purpose of this build is to contribute to the group as a whole, while ensuring they stay alive. We won't concentrate on full heals, as in a well made group we would find ourselves with nothing to do - thus we must fill this time with things that will benefit our party, perpetuate victory and, of course #3: Profit.
Purpose:
- Enhance party DPS
- Sustain party survivability
Race:
Any race will do. Play what you like! Everyone knows that I always go human!
Ability Scores
- 16 WIS & 16 STR roll
- Add +1/+1 to WIS/STR every 10 levels
We could also go WIS/CHA, but we will be slotting enchantments for the recovery.
Paragon Path
Anointed Champion. There are many arguments for going DO here, but given the purpose of this build and how we will set up, the AC path just comes out ahead. I won't go into the math right now, but will reserve a space for that discussion here.
Powers & Feats
Here is the current Power Build: [click here]
At-Will:
- Blessing of Battle
- Astral Seal
Encounter:
- Divine Glow
- Break the Spirit
- Bastion of Health
Daily:
- Hallowed Ground
- Anointed Army
Passive Powers:
- Divine Fortune
- Holy Fervor
Feats:
Divinity, Divine/Empowered
- Divinity: Divinity fills up as you attack with your at-will powers. Each time the bar fills up, a cross will light up. You should always seek to have as many of these crosses full as possible (always be attacking when not doing other things, etc.). Since we chose AC as our Paragon path, Blessing of Battle will be our best builder of Divinity; Astral Seal is next in line. Understand that you can only build Divinity by using your at-will powers, no other means build Divinity!
- Divine Mode: When you have Divinity available, you can enter Divine Mode. This mode will allow you to cast encounter powers regardless of cooldowns as well as changing your encounter powers to have a different effect. For each encounter power used it will reduce your Divinity by one cross - thus you could use 3 encounters in a row without any cooldown if you had a full bar of Divinity. Be aware of how your encounter/at-will powers function while in and out of Divine Mode.
- Empowered: When you are in Divine mode and you use a power you gain a blue orb that will float around you. This is your Empowered stack. You can have 3 of these orbs. When you switch from Divinity to use any encounter you will consume the number of orbs stacked and make that encounter power stronger.
Rotation
Now that we've built our High Priest, lets talk about how to put him to work. There really isn't a 'rotation' persay here, since the situation will dictate what we need to do, so this will serve as a guide for help prioritize what actions we need to take.
- Break the Spirit - we need to work to have this at 100% up-time. To do this, we need to make sure it is empowered when we use it. Empowered is going to give a 30% damage buff!
- Blessing of Battle - even though it is a slow use time, it is your best bet to build Divinity fast. Use it almost exclusively.
- Only utilize Astral Seal IF the group is needing a little lift in healing, but if they are surviving just fine there is no need to utilize Astral Seal in place of Blessing of Battle.
- Divine Glow - Use this on cool-down, especially in groups and on trash.
- Hallowed Ground - Use as often as it is up! (unless on trash that is being cleared without issue)
Using the above priorities we can order them as follows:
- Enter battle using Divine Glow (keep using on CD), followed by Blessing of Battle.
- Utilize Blessing of Battle until Divinity is full.
- Once Divinity is full, enter Divine Mode and use either Divine Glow for DPS and healing or massive healing with Bastion of Health.
- You should now have 3 empowered orbs.
- Use Break the Spirit (Empowered).
- Rinse and repeat.
