Detailled description of my Passive Heal mod 9 DC build.
This build is something I was afraid to test because I was Righteous and melting stuff everywhere. There was nothing i couldn't handle as solo DC except 1 dungeon in Well of Dragons but my group contribution wasn't enough for PUGs and early ilvl 70's. So I went and experimented and after many trial and errors and many forums visited I went with a mix of VIRT/RIGHT.
Character Points
I started with Half elf, went for 16/16 str/wis build. And put 2 extra points in Str. Why not Charisma? Because 1 point of strength is much more worth than 1 point in charisma. The extra recovery from charisma is more easily obtained from enchantments.
Path
Annointed Champion
Heroic Feats
Healing Action 4/5
=> more AP while healing.
Greater Fortune 3/3
=> 3% more healing from WIS
Toughness 3/3
=> More Toughness, more fun ;)
Holy Resolve 0/3
=> While a good skill to have, not critical imo
Weapon Mastery 0/3
=> More crits is good, but not really the aim of this build.
Domain Synergy 5/5
=> Less cooldown on your skills is always good. Faster rotation means faster AP, means faster Annointed Army :)
Initiate of the Faith 0/5
=> 1% of 12000+ is only like 120 extra Crit
Repurpose Soul 0/3
=> Doesn’t say on tooltip but only works on single target spells which we don’t really use a lot and the heal is quite small.
Battlewise 0/3
=> Play with better tanks if you need this ;)
Cleanse1/3
=> Procs enough with 1 point in it.
Bountifull Fortune 4/5
=> More div faster rotation faster AP
Righteous Feats
Furious Intervention 5/5
=> 10% more AP, sign me up.
Ancient Warding 5/5
=> 3% heal + 5% AP gain after AA, sign me up ;)
Weapons of Light
=> 10% power to everyone around you. Goes well with the other buff and hot skills we have in virtuous tree
Virtuous Feats
Lasting Wish 5/5
=> 10% more healing
Have Faith 5/5
=> 5% dmg resistance for all members under a HOT, nice.
Battle Fervor 5/5
=> extra 15% of my power to allies with Blessing of Battle.
Gift of Haste 5/5
=> Hand out AP to your friends and yourself why not.
Gift of Life 2/5
=> 10% more healing when you are at 100%. With all the hots going on and the protection from AA this is 90% of the fight.
Purity 1/5
=> 2% chance for a 200% heal is better then 0. Just 1 point to activate the chance. Procs often because with all the hots around you you have a lot of heal “tics”
Cleansing fire 1/5
=> Nice little HOT on your allies, 10% is enough. It doesn’t stack.
Virtue’s Gift 1/5
=> 20% more heal when over 95% health. Thats almost all the time.
Shield of the divine 1/1
=> puts a powerfull HOT on everyone around you and yourself when you get hit. Also makes your main healing spells into HOTs. The synergy with all the little feats we already took is really powerfull.
Powers
Most builds are the same here in powers with the tier system so I’m just gonna discuss the loudout and rotation of the spells you will be using the most. It speaks for itself those are the ones you want to max as fast as possible
SOLO PLAY
Daily
Hallowed Ground
Annointed Armor
=> You’ll be using AA most of the time for the extra dmg and ability to ignore a hit and control resist ( Keep in mind only 1 hit is completely mitigated by this, second hit you still take dmg but are immune to control effects. Same for 3rd and 4rth.
Class Features
Divine Fortune
Holy Fervor
=> More AP and more DIVINITY. If you are squishy, you can slot annointed armor. But I feel immortal already without that.
At Will
Blessing of Battle
Sacred Flame
=> Almost never use BoB solo as it only buffs your companion and is sooo slow, sacred flame is one of the fastest divinity builders we have with decent dmg.
Encounters
Divine Glow
=> the best spell we have !! never take it off, always do a DG before starting your divinity spells.
Chains of Blazing Light
=> Basic nuke spell in divinity, also handy as a fight opener with the root effect allowing you to get some at-wills in before they come closer. Added bonus is that this spell adds AP when cast in divinity mode.
Break The Spirit
=> Only use this in empowerd mode unless you really need a stun. Gives you and allies around you 40% dmg bonus ( 30 if 3 points in it )
Rotation
Start fight with CoBL
Use Sacred Flame to build divinity
When everyone closed up around you, cast DG
Go into divinity mode and cast CoBL 3 times
Full empowered cast BtS
When AA is up, pop it for extra 40% dmg bonus
SF,SF,SF, DG, DIV COBLx3,Bts … you get the idea :)
GROUP PLAY
You add a lot of dmg and protection to allies when you are close to them so keep that in mind while positiong yourself. Most of your heals are passive ( except DG )
Daily
Hallowed Ground
Annointed Armor
=> You’ll be using AA most of the time but HG can be usefull for long boss fights. Keep in mind that you don't generate AP while in HG. So perfect time to pop your sigil of devotion.
Class Features
Divine Fortune
Holy Fervor
=> Could go for healers lore but always forget to change and doesn’t really make or break a group. More and faster AA is more benificial to the group imo.
At Will
Blessing of Battle
Sacred Flame
=> Start fights with BoB after carefull positioning myself to give my allies the buffs. then SF. After a rotation i tend to do 1 BoB and rest SF to fill divinity.
Encounters
Divine Glow
=> Cast this when its up on the tank and mob. Can cast it in divinity mode ( it stacks ). IF you don't use CoBL, you'll cast this spell 3 times in divine mode.
Astral Shield
=> Cast this in normal mode for a nice yellow circle where all your allies automagically run to. Nice to have everyone together right? Remember all the positional skills we have ;)
Also provides a very nice DMG mitigation ( -30% dmg ) and Guardian Fighters will love you for the extra buff to their into the fray skill. If the group can handle it, you can run CoBL instead.
Break The Spirit
=> Only use this in empowered mode. Gives you and allies around you 40% dmg bonus ( 30 if 3 points in it )
Rotation
Astral Shield
BoB, SF,SF,SF ( untill div is full )
Divine Glow
Divinity DG x 3 ( it stacks ) ( or CoBL )
empowered BtS
Pop AA when up. Place Astral Shield when up.
Other skills
Hastening Light => Currently bugged, sometimes works, sometimes it doesnt.
Light of Divinity => Very small heal sadly
Bastion of Health => Our best Heal, can slot it instead of Astral Shield if another DC already has shield up. I prefer shield over the heal here.
Exaltation => Might be nice but difficult to cast.
Forgemaster Flame => Use instead of BtS if another DC is using BtS. For boss fights with a decent group you might use this instead of astral shield for more DPS and more group buff DPS.
Daunting Light => Our best DPS spell but too slow and narrow beam. I Miss too much which means lower dps than the wider and faster CoBL. Also COBL gives AP during divinity casts so better spell to use imo.
Healing Word => so easy to cast and heals alot with Shield of the Divine, always try to find a reason to put it on my bar but never do it.
Searing Light => Only good on low levels or very narrow dungeons.
Sun Burst => Nice for ledges to blast mobs away but seldom very usefull and tanks hate you for using it.
Astral Seal => Not a great DIV builder and the heal doesn't really add much ( except a lot of lag in big fights ;) )
Lance of Faith => Too slow, decent dmg but not a great div builder.
Final Words
Once you go through your first rotation in solo, giving you 40% dmg bonus from Bts + AA 40% dmg bonus, stuff melts the same as when i was in full righteous build. It takes a rotation to get going but the virtuous feats really add some survivability and buffs for the groups. It's also a lot easier to solo as now you don't need to stun/root and buff tough enemies constantly. You are much harder to kill :)
If anyone decides to try this spec out, lemme know. I can always help or use any feedback to further enhance this.
For Gear, mounts and companions. Focus on Power/Recovery. More power is more heals and dmg and also more buff to your allies. More Recovery is less cooldown between skills. ( especially keeping BtS up 100% is nice )
For solo play, some defense and armor penetration never hurts.
I like this! I'd use BoB almost exclusively though...I know its slower, but I think (testing may be required) that it builds faster than if using SF. The SF seems faster, and has damage, but i'm after the building of Divinity, not damage - thus BoB.
More later...
